one of my most favorite things - walking in the dark, random rain drops falling, venting about whatever's going on in life - running away, for a few minutes, from life
spending time with someone - trying to find shapes in the clouds, looking for stars, enjoying each others company
taking time to breathe
cheeseballs.

back home
Now that I have been home for a week, I can try write about my trip, and how life is in Canada after experiencing Africa.
The sierra leone trip was absolutely amazing. It is so hard to explain how awesome it was. if i could go back there tomorrow (and not have to worry about what i would be missing here...) i would in a second. when i start talking about my trip, and thinking about the many different people i met, i could go on for hours. It was so good.
But now that im back, i miss africa. I miss the worry-free days, the lack of time pressures, of internet pressures, the relaxed feeling at the home i was staying at. i miss the rice, yes the rice, the heat, the school, my family, the people i got to meet. i miss almost everything about africa. i dont miss the bathroom (a hole in the ground) and i dont miss the roosters at five in the morning. but thats minor.
being back... is weird. im getting used to it, i dont have much of a choice, but its still weird. Africa was more life changing than i thought. It changed the way i think... in a way. going to africa taught me that there is so much more to life than high school. The reasons people get mad in high school seem so pointless... life is so much more than whether or not someone talked to you yesterday.
Africa also taught me, or at least helped me, to enjoy life all the time. they are always smiling, always laughing about something... or nothing. its great. i feel so free in Africa. its great. its so easy to forget about all the problems here and enjoy life. Yes, they have stresses there, and worries, but they are actually worth their time. i could learn from them. canada could learn from them.
ok so i will write more than i have recently. i will post some actual stories from africa. thanks for reading.

time to go!!!
Well, after a solid almost 4 hours of sleep, and many tears, it is time to be off!! I wish I could half explain what I'm feeling right now, but I don't think I can. but in the three minutes that I have to write this, I'll try explain.
I am extremely excited, I have absolutely NO idea what to expect, I am about to leave to go to AFRICA!!!!, I am going to miss people here, I cannot wait to leave, and I cannot wait to enter 35 degree weather. TAKE THAT RAIN!!!
and now I have to leave. I will try to write as much as I can... but I'm not sure how often I will have a computer.
